Information about Glasgow

Glasgow is Scotland's largest city. It has a population of around 600,000 and was the European Capital of Culture in 2000.

Glasgow is situated on the west of Scotland and is well served by the M8, Glasgow airport and two main route railway stations. Spectacular countryside and coastal views are within easy reach and Scotland's capital city, Edinburgh, is only 42 miles away.

Glasgow is home to many of Scotland's leading businesses as well as the Glasgow School of Art, the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama, Glasgow Caledonian University and the Universities of Glasgow and Strathclyde. It houses numerous municipal art galleriesand museums, theatres,restaurants, pubs and clubs, and sports and leisure facilities.
