There are many opportunities to get involved in undertaking work on behalf of, or for, QAA, including specific project work.

Current opportunities

Project to support a review of QAA's current and future management of its responsibilities for Access to HE

Access to HE is a successful scheme that has the potential to make further significant contributions to opening up higher education opportunities to adult learners from across a wide range of backgrounds. QAA's Board of Directors has noted that a point has been reached where current arrangements may no longer be sufficient to maintain fully the level of service provided by QAA and to accommodate likely future developments.

There is a need to review QAA’s current and future management of its responsibilities for Access to HE and associated resource requirements. QAA is looking to recruit an evaluator to undertake desk-based research and interviews with key stakeholders in order to:

• provide an independent overview of the developments in Access to HE since 2004, with specific reference to the role of QAA
• identify possible areas of development and ways of enhancing QAA’s management of Access to HE, identifying enablers and inhibitors to action
• assess the associated risks to emerge from the review and the risks of non-action.
