Quality enhancement and assurance - a changing picture?

Report on the joint HEA-QAA-HEFCE enhancement project

QAA, the Higher Education Academy and the Higher Education Funding Council for England have been working on a joint enhancement project to explore how institutions in England and Northern Ireland view the relationship between quality assurance and quality enhancement.

The initial findings of the project were presented and discussed at the 'Quality assurance and quality enhancement: relationships and perspectives' conference, held in Nottingham on 11 June 2008.

The report of this project has now been published and shows that many institutions are focusing more explicitly on enhancing their support for students' learning and are attempting to ensure that enhancement is embedded in quality assurance processes.
