The focus of the conference this year was a discussion of how institutions use the recently published Outcomes from institutional audit papers when reflecting on their quality management and learning support arrangements.
Peter Williams opened the discussions with an outline of the range of enhancement activity undertaken by QAA. Nick Harris and David Cairns briefly described how the Outcomes… papers are produced, our intentions for them and their further development. Attention then switched to four case studies of how Outcomes... papers have been used by several institutions to inform their own enhancement activities and how the Higher Education Academy has used the paper on external examiners in its own project work. In the afternoon session Norman Sharp, Director, QAA Scotland gave an update and perspective on the Enhancement Themes.
