UK higher education collaborative provision: working within the new points-based immigration system

15 April 2008
Universities UK, Woburn House, 20 Tavistock Square, London WC1H 9HQ

Please note that this event has been oversubscribed and we are unable to confirm any further requests to register for the seminar. A waiting list is now in operation and applicants will be contacted should places become available.

QAA and Universities UK have jointly planned this event, which is designed to enable higher education institutions (HEIs) to consider the implications of the new points-based immigration system for their collaborative provision and other partnership activities. The new system will require all organisations that wish to recruit international students to be registered as sponsors on the new Border and Immigration Agency Sponsor Register.

Every sponsor organisation will be required to undertake reporting on their students to ensure compliance with the immigration rules. HEIs have many collaborative and partnership arrangements with providers in the UK. Ahead of the introduction of the new system, it is appropriate for HEIs to consider the nature of these arrangements to ensure students, partner providers and HEIs are able to comply with the new requirements.

This event will be of interest to collaborative provision managers, quality assurance managers, international Officers and other relevant colleagues.
