General Osteopathic Council review
QAA is contracted to carry out reviews of osteopathic programmes of study and of the institutions that provide them on behalf of the General Osteopathic Council (GOsC). The GOsC has appointed QAA to the task of managing GOsC's reviews of educational programmes and providers.
The review method is, in effect, three different review methods (for recognition, monitoring and renewal of recognition of programmes). Full details of the differences between the methods are explained in the Handbook. GOsC appoints review visitors; QAA trains review visitors, and manages reviews of osteopathic educational provision and providers following the general principles and style adopted elsewhere in QAA's profile of review methods. Reviews undertaken for the GOsC respect the statutory requirements placed on the GOsC and its Education Committee, and the purposes, values and standards of QAA.
