Quality assurance of healthcare education

QAA carries out a variety of review work on behalf of health organisations.

Major Review of healthcare programmes in England
Skills for Health (the UK Sector Skills Council for Health), in partnership with the Nursing and Midwifery Council, the Health Professions Council and the Strategic Health Authorities, has contracted with QAA to carry out reviews of all NHS-funded healthcare programmes in England during the period 2003-06.

The Partnership Quality Assurance Framework for Healthcare Education in England (the Partnership Framework)
In conjunction with its work on Major Review, QAA carries out contract work for Skills for Health and their partners with regards to the rest of the Partnership Framework. This includes the prototypes of Approval and Ongoing Quality Monitoring and Enhancement (OQME), two key processes that form the Partnership Framework with Major Review.

General Osteopathic Council review
QAA is contracted to carry out reviews of osteopathic programmes of study and of the institutions that provide them on behalf of the General Osteopathic Council.
