Partnership Quality Assurance Framework: Prototype activity 2004-05
[Approval and Ongoing Quality Monitoring and Enhancement Processes, Standards and Shared Evidence]
Independent evaluation
Background
The Skills for Health Quality Assurance Team commissioned us to undertake the independent evaluation of the prototypes that have been established to test out the Approval and ongoing quality monitoring and enhancement (OQME) aspects of the new streamlined quality systems for healthcare professional education. We have developed a comprehensive and rigorous evaluation strategy in order to understand the realities of the prototype experience and the implications of introducing the new processes so that we can formulate meaningful conclusions and recommendations.
Aim of the evaluation project
The essence of the project is to determine the strengths, weaknesses and overall efficacy of the Approval and OQME processes and shared standards template and to make recommendations for enhancement
Methodological considerations
- Constructivist paradigm
- Concerned with making sense of claims, concerns and issues
- Iterative process
- Negotiating consensus and meaningful constructions

Methods
