Dear Colleague
I am pleased to enclose draft benchmark statements that have been produced through the auspices of the Agency under contract with the Department of Health (England). As with our previous work in the health care area, we believe that benchmarks have broad applicability across the UK, and this is reflected in the distribution list for this consultation. We also recognise that, where appropriate, additional or alternative benchmarks will need to apply in certain circumstances in Scotland.
You will need to note that two of these draft statements - audiology and clinical psychology - were directly commissioned by the Department of Health. They are included in this consultation for convenience and any responses received will be passed onto the Department for its consideration.
Attached to this letter is a response form on which responses on each of the draft statements can be made. I should be grateful if responses were sent to Maria Thomas, QAA, Southgate House, Southgate Street, Gloucester, GL1 1UB, or email m.c.thomas@qaa.ac.uk
Yours sincerely
