Publication of Foundation degree qualification benchmark

I am pleased to announce the publication of the Foundation degree qualification benchmark which can be found on the QAA web site at www.qaa.ac.uk/public/foundation/contents.htm

The qualification benchmark represents a good deal of work and investment of time by members of the benchmark group. There has been widespread consultation with relevant stakeholders and the responses have been taken into consideration in the final drafting. The QAA is grateful to all those whose work has enabled the qualification benchmark to be published.

During the current review of foundation degrees being undertaken in 2002-03 the qualification benchmark will remain in final draft form in order that the outcomes of the review will help to shape the final version of the document by identifying existing good practice and any gaps in the document.
