QAA strengthens links with Japan
The Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education (QAA) and the National Institution for Academic Degrees and University Evaluation (NIAD-UE) of Japan have signed a Memorandum of Understanding. The ceremony was held at the annual general meeting of the Asia Pacific Quality Network in Kuala Lumpur.
The Memorandum of Understanding, signed by Peter Williams, Chief Executive of QAA, and Dr Tsutomu Kimura, President of NIAD-UE, marks a strategic alliance between both organisations in which they can work together to improve the quality of higher education in the UK and Japan.
Peter Williams said: “It is of great importance to British higher education that we develop our links with our Japanese counterparts. By working together in an atmosphere of cooperation and collaboration we are creating opportunities to exchange information and expertise to the benefit of staff and students alike.
“It is essential that we develop the awareness and credibility of UK higher education in Asia as transnational education increases.”
