Enhancement-led institutional review (ELIR) is one of five main elements of a new approach to quality in Scotland. The approach was fully implemented in higher education institutions from 2003-04.

Procedures on representations
Available to an institution where a team has judged that it has 'no confidence' in the soundness of the institution's procedures for the present and likely future management of the quality of its programmes and the academic standards of its awards

Quality assessment reports
Institutions in Scotland that were reviewed between 1992 and1998 were reviewed by the Scottish Higher Education Funding Council. The reports are not currently available online but if you wish to view these reports please contact the Scottish Funding Council.
