QAA developed a Developmental review method to review higher education in further education colleges in Northern Ireland over the 2008-09 academic year. This review provided an opportunity for colleges to demonstrate the effectiveness of their management of quality and standards, as set out in their partnership agreements with institutions and awarding bodies.
A consultation on the proposed method was carried out between 3 October and 28 November 2008.
